Clothes & Textiles

You can usually recycle (but not in household collections):
– Bedding & blankets
– Bras

Bedding & Blankets

If they are in good condition:
– give them to charity (either by going to a charity shop or by filling a bag which has come through your door)
– see if family or friends would like them
– try sites where you can give away items you no longer need for free (e.g. Freecycle or Freegle)

If they aren’t in good condition:
– repurpose them as cleaning clothes or cushions etc.
– take them to a local textiles recycling bank (you can find your closest one here)

Bras

In new or good condition:
– some charity shops accept underwear
– you can post bras or find a local collection point here and support Against Breast Cancer as well as supporting small businesses in Africa
– Smalls for All is another charity which accepts gently worn bras and gives them to people in need in Africa (you can find details about posting here)

Unsuitable for re-use:
– these can be recycled in the textiles section of Household Waste Recycling Centres
